The Richard Faltin Collection
The scholary library of the Finnish composer Richard Faltin contains printed music, books on music, periodicals and concert programmes from the years 1850-1917. The material is in German and contains mainly books on the theory and history of music, textbooks, and manuals on singing, piano and organ playing. The printed music consists mainly of oratorios, operas, choral compositions, song books and hymn books.
The National Library of Finland has also a Faltin archive and a manuscript collection of his own compositions.
The collection is partly catalogued in the HELKA database.
The material can be studied in the Special Reading Room in Fabiania.
