The Missing Materials of the National Collection
The National Collection is an archive repository of Finnish imprints, the bulk of which has been obtained in the form of legal deposit copies. However, not all printed products have been delivered to the National Library, and some have vanished for one reason or another. Some publications are in such poor condition that the National Library is seeking copies in better condition to replace the damaged ones.
The data on fiction and non-fiction missing in the National Collection can, in principle, be found in the Fennica database, but this data is not all inclusive. A separate catalogue of the missing issues of magazines is under preparation, but no separate catalogue of uncatalogued materials, such as ephemera and posters, will be compiled.
Publications offered for purchase or to be donated must be in good condition, undamaged and complete, preferably unbound with the original covers.
