The American Resource Center (ARC)
The American Resource Center's collections contain civic and humanistic materials concerning the United States of America. The materials are published in the US in the English language. The collections' main subject areas are American society, economics, government, foreign policy and international relations culture and history. The American Resource Center receives 75 magazines, including daily editions of The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal's American edition. The collection also contains videos intended for educational use.
In 1995, the American Resource Center (ARC), previously known as the America Center Library, became a library administered jointly by the American Embassy and the National Library of Finland. The U.S. Embassy in Helsinki, whose information service and website pages and their upkeep also belong to the American Resource Center's activities, is responsible for the collections' acquisitions.
Except for reference works, magazines and newspapers, the material can be borrowed with a Helka card.
