Printing of the ISMN
The ISMN should always be printed in a prominent position in the publication in type large enough to be easily legible (9 point or larger).
The ISMN must be printed on the back of the music publication. It is also possible to print the ISMN with the imprint notice. If it is not possible to print the ISMN in any of these positions it must be printed in some other prominent position in the publication. When the item is a single sheet, the ISMN will appear in only one place on the item (e.g. at the bottom of the page).
A complete list of all ISMNs assigned to all parts of a publication should be displayed on at least one of the items. It is also possible to display the list on all parts of the publication.
ISMN M-321-76543-1 (score)
ISMN M-321-76544-9 (piano score)
ISMN M-321- 6545-7 (set of parts)
In multi-volume publications a list of all the ISMNs should be displayed in all volumes in a prominent position. If this is not possible the whole set's ISMN should be printed in each volume together with the individual ISMN of the volume
ISMN M-321-76548-1 (set)
ISMN M-321-76549-9 (volume 1)
ISMN M-321-76550-9 (volume 2)
ISMN M-321-76551-2 (volume 3)
If a set of parts is sold in a wrapper or box, the ISMN for the whole set must be printed on the wrapper or box together with the ISMNs for the parts that are available individually.
If the item involves display of content stored in electronic form (e.g. an online item), the ISMN shall appear on the page or screen that displays the title or its equivalent (e.g. the initila screen displayed when the content is first accessed and/or the screen that carries the copyright notice).
If an item bears another identifier as well as an ISMN, these numbers should be printed close to each other,
