"Save a Book" Website Wins Prize

The Booksellers' Association of Finland has awarded the National Library its "Literary Deed of the Year" prize. The prize was given to the Library's "Save a Book" programme, launched earlier this year, inviting all friends of the book to support the preservation of culturally priceless literary artefacts for future generations. Private individuals, businesses and associations can take part in the preservation effort - i.e. conservation and digitization - by donating a sum of money to an item of their choice.

The website can be accessed at http://www.pelastakirja.kansalliskirjasto.fi/ (in Finnish only)
