Exhibition Publications
Publication activities – highquality books, CD and DVD recordings, online exhibitions, postcards, bookmarks and other similar products – also take place in connection with exhibitions and cultural events. The exhibition books are published as part of the National Library of Finland’s Gallery Publications (ISSN 1459-0735) series. The purpose of the publications is to enhance the understanding of the exhibition’s subject matter, provide researchers with the opportunity to publish articles related to the exhibition and enable the theme of the exhibition to continue with a life of its own after the exhibition itself has been physically dismantled. Each exhibition book has a different layout that reflects the exhibition’s particular theme and visual character. Since 2002, nine books have appeared in the publication series. Decisions concerning the publications are made specifically for the exhibition-specifically depending on funding.
