Two different language versions: Finnish-Swedish for domestic circulation and German-Finnish for Germany. The exhibition will also be mounted at the Hamburg Town Hall.

Mikael Agricola

450th anniversary year national and international travelling exhibition 2007. Exhibition experts, designers and scriptwriters: Professor Simo Heininen and Researcher Anna Perälä. Presenting the life and work of Mikael Agricola, the exhibition contains many illustrations of Agricola’s works. Layout: Marjaana Kinnermä. Size: 16 panels (1 panel 80 cm x 120 cm). Texts in Finnish and Swedish. A second language version is in Finnish and German. Libraries, museums, schools and other similar organisations can order the exhibition for a month at a time. A display copy of Simo Heininen’s work Mikael Agricola. Elämä and teokset (Edita), published in February of 2007, accompanies the exhibition.

J. V. Snellman - European Thinker

An international travelling exhibition organized to celebrate the 200th Anniversary of J. V. Snellman’s birth. Exhibition design and planning group: Dr Carola Häntsch, Licentiate in Philosophy, Researcher Rainer Knapas, Licentiate in Social Sciences, Philosopher Eero Ojanen, and Doctor of Social Sciences, Docent Raimo Savolainen. The material includes 31 digitally realised panels: 21 panels sized 80 cm x 150 cm (biographical section 13 panels, influence in Germany 6 panels, map of Finland 1 panel, exhibition presentation 1 panel), 9 panels sized 80 cm x 70 cm (Snellman’s European trips 5 panels and Snellman’s philosophy 4 panels) as well as one panel sized 40 cm x 150 cm (panoramic view of the Rhine Valley). Three different language versions: 1. Finnish-Swedish (National Library of Finland), 2. German-Finnish (Finland-Germany Institute in Berlin) and 3. Russian-Finnish (Alexander Theater). The first version was exhibited in the spring of 2007 in Estonia and Latvia. From 16 April –14 May it was displayed at the Latvian Academic Library in Riga.

ABC

From Agricola’s ABC Book to the modern speller. National Library of Finland, 2002. Exhibition experts, designers and scriptwriters: Docent Tuija Laine, Docent Esko Laine, Sirkka Havu, FM. The exhibition includes 25 panels: 24 panels sized 80.5 cm x 70.5 cm and 1 panel sized 90.5 cm x 150.5 cm. The panels contain three thematic entities (6 panels, 11 panels, 7 panels) that can be separated into, for example, one or two different parts. The exhibition can be ordered for a period of 1-1.5 months for libraries, museums, schools and other similar organisations. The exhibition is associated with the National Library’s publication ABC. Lukeminen esivallan palveluksessa (National Library of Finland’s Gallery Publication No. 2, Helsinki 2002).
