Digital Imaging

Digital images are made from the original materials either by scanning or by photography with a digital camera. Orders are placed with a separate order form. Digitised images can only be made from materials whose copyrights have expired. If the order concerns copyrighted materials, the customer must clarify the rights related to the material in advance.

The National Library of Finland's Digitising Studio in Helsinki specialises in the reproduction of individual digital images for private use as well as for publication and exhibition purposes.

The Microfilming and Conservation Centre has extensive experience with the digitising of large-sized paper documents as well as digitised facsimile works for entire publications and extensive publishing entities. The Microfilming and Conservation Centre also produces digitised images from 35 mm microfilm reels.

Copies can also be made of online materials already digitised at the National Library of Finland. Digitised images can also be ordered as full-colour paper copies in the A4 to A0 size range.
