The Slavonic Library's Periodicals
Newspapers
Besides the newspapers obtained from Russia during the period of 1828-1917, the Slavonic Library continues to acquire newspapers published in the Russian and Slavic languages. Newspapers published after 1993 can be accessed from the Helka database. Older newspapers can only be found with card indexes or special catalogues. A portion of the newspapers can be used as microfilms. New Russian and Ukrainian daily newspapers can be read through the Integrum information service.
Magazines and series
Certain magazines and series are available in the open collection, but most must be ordered from the stacks. Magazines published after 1993 can be accessed from the Helka database; older editions must be accessed through card indexes. The Library acquires magazines in the humanities and social science fields from Russia and other countries in Slavic language areas.
- Governmental series publications (for example, Polnoe sobranie zakonov Rossijskoj imperii, Sobranie uzakonenij i rasporjaženij pravitel'stva)
- Ministries' publications (for example, Žurnal Ministerstva justicii, Žurnal Ministerstva narodnago prosveščenija, Žurnal Ministerstva vnutrennih del)
- Military publications (for example, Voennyj sbornik, Morskoj sbornik, Artillerijskij žurnal)
- Statistical publications (for example, Vestnik finansov, promyšlennosti i torgovli, Materialy dlja geografii i statistiki Rossijskoj imperii, Materialy dlja ocenki zemel, Obzor vnešnej torgovli Rossii, Promyšlennost' i torgovlja, Statističeskij vremennik Rossijskoj imperii)
- Literary-artistic seasonal publications (for example, Literaturnaja gazeta, Moskovskij telegraf, Otečestvennyja zapiski)
- Universities' publications (for example, Učenye zapiski Moskovskogo universiteta, Učenyja zapiski Kazanskago universiteta, Kievskija universitetskija izvestija)
- Ecclesiastical publications (for example, Cerkovnyja vedomosti, Eparhial'nyja vedomosti...)
- Publications by scientific associations and communities (for example, Čtenija v Imperatorskom obščestve istorii i drevnostej rossijskih, Sbornik Russkago istoričeskago obščestva, Trudy gubernskih arhivnyh komissij)
