The Persica Collection

The collection consists of literature in Persian published in Russia between 1828-1917 which the Library received as deposit copies during the Russian era. The collection is small, with only 50 volumes, mainly classical Persian literature with a focus on mysticism. There are also textbooks and scholarly works on the Koran and some issues of one periodical.

The Persica Collection, together with the collections Arabica, Caucasica and Turcica, are an important part of the Islamic literature printed in Russia.
