The Otto Engström Collection

The collection of Otto Engström (1853-1919), Professor of Medicine, contains about 6,000 volumes of medical literature. It gives a good picture of the history of gynecology and obstetrics in Europe over four centuries and at the same time of the entire history of medicine.

Most of the books are in French, but there are also many in German. They are catalogued in the database HELKA.

The material is studied in the Special Reading Room in Fabiania.
