Printed Music

The Finnish collection of printed music contains over 40,000 items of both classical and light music starting from the 19th century . The material is catalogued into the music database VIOLA (1977-) and the music card catalogue (1801-1976). New materials are received as legal deposits and donations or are acquired.

The Library has also collected works of foreign composers and the printed music in them is registrated in the database HELKA.

The music card catalogue contains information on printed music until 1976, but it is not complete.

Printed music is not lent home. The materials are studied in the Special Reading Room in Fabiania.
