Open Access Collection and Reference Collection

Open Access Collection

The Open Access Loan Collection and the Reference Collection in the Rotunda contain the most heavily used literature in the Research Collection. Most of the recent acquisitions are located there.

The Open Access Collection is located in the Rotunda on floors 3-5 and the reference works are on the 3rd floor.

This is a self-service system: the borrower fetches the books and records the loans at the automatic lending machine or at the Circulation Desk. The reference books can only be used in the Library.

Reference Library

The Humanities Collection's reference books are placed in the halls in the Main Building and in the Rotunda on the second floor. The microfilms are in the Newspaper Room (North Hall, P-sali). The reference collection of foreign periodicals is in the periodical stack in the passway between the Rotunda and Fabiania.

The reference collections can only be used in the Library.

There are also reference collections in the Fennica Reading Room, Special Reading Room, Music Library, Slavonic Library and American Resource Center
