Incunabula

The National Library of Finland owns 375 books produced between the years 1455-1500, which are called incunabula. There are incunabula in the following collections: the Incunabula Collection, the A.E. Nordenskiöld Collection, the Monrepos Library and the Manuscript Collection.

Only one incunable belongs to the national literature of Finland, the Missale Aboense, a mass book printed for Finland in Lübeck 1488. The Library owns 13 different versions of the book, all of them incomplete.

The incunabula can be studied in the Special Reading Room in Fabiania.
