Use of the Humanities Collection

The Humanities Collection is divided into a reference library, open collection, as well as a closed stack collection, from where materials are furnished to customers by special order.

Publications printed before the 1800s, as well as more recent rare editions, are furnished for examination at the Fabiania special reading rooms. Pre-1900s literature is loaned only for reading room use.

Almost all of the Humanities Collection¿s materials can be accessed from the Helka database; customers themselves can retrieve materials from the reference library and open collection. Materials from the closed stack collection are ordered with a materials request directly from the database or by filling out an order form.

The delivery time on weekdays is 2 hours. The publications can be delivered on the same day if the order is made before 14:00. The loan periods are 28 days from the open collection and 180 days from the closed stack collection.
