Notices, invitations and death announcements

Occasional poems and other writings for special occasions where published on account of for example a doctoral dissertation, royal and other birthdays, weddings, funerals and other family occasions. Also memorable events, phenomena of nature, years of crop failure and wars, and victories are commemorated in occasional poems.

From the Swedish era there are over 3,000 topical compositions, either poems or written in prose. They have been microfilmed and microfiches are placed in the Newspaper Room (North Hall, P-sali).

There are catalogues of the microfilmed material. Please ask the staff for advise.

The material from 1810-1944 is also microfilmed and the films are placed in the Newspaper Room (North Hall, P-sali). The material in this collection is catalogued in the database FENNICA.
