The Web Archive
From the year 2006 onwards the National Library of Finland has been collecting webpages and other Internet-based material meant for the Finnish population or located physically in Finland. This Web Archive is available for researchers and other interested persons in the National Library of Finland.

Bookings are generally offered for a maximum of two hours per day.
In 2010 other Finnish legal deposit libraries and the National Audiovisual Archive will also offer workstations for browsing the Web Archive.
What can one do at the workstation?
It is possible to browse, view and listen to all the content in the archive. Digital copies cannot be taken of the data in the archive, but it is possible, with personal devices, to photograph the computer screen or record sounds through the loudspeakers.
Documents can be printed from the archive. Printing is subject to a fee.
The workstation is not connected to the Internet. It has the most common office programs installed, but files cannot be saved to any personal memory devices nor be e-mailed. Personal work should be done on one´s own laptop.
Index for The Finnish Web Archive
With the Index Search service you can search with a www-address if a certain webpage has been stored in the National Library of Finland Web Archive. By virtue of the Copyright Act, the full contents of the archive are accessible only at certain locations using dedicated workstations.
