Requesting an ISBN

The number of digits in the publisher prefix is determined by the quantity of titles produced. Publishers with one to four digits in their prefix will receive their ISBN listing directly from the Finnish ISBN Agency and are themselves responsible for the numbering. Publishers with prefixes consisting of five digits or who only publish occasionally will receive individual numbers from the Finnish ISBN Agency.

If your publishing is occasional or if you already are linked to the ISBN system, please fill in the electronic ISBN request form.

If you publish regularly (for example, one or more publications a year) and you are not yet linked to the ISBN system, then please fill the electronic application form and request form.
