Legal deposit copies are to be submitted of
- All printed music publications printed in Finland
- Printed music publications printed abroad, but intended for distribution in Finland
Exceptions: no legal deposit copies are required if the printed music is
- In manuscript form
- Produced for internal local use, and not intended for publication
- Produced abroad and intended for international distribution
Statutory deposits
Printed music printed in a domestic printing house is to be deposited by the printing house, which is required to submit the legal deposit copies as the technical producer.
Printed music printed abroad but intended for distribution in Finland is to be submitted by the publisher, or if the publisher does not have an office in Finland, the importer.
If the content and covers of the printed music publication are manufactured by different makers, the manufacturer and publisher must agree on which one of them will submit the legal deposit copies.
Six (6) copies must be submitted of printed music publications.
