Free access to the Linnea Union Catalogues is being piloted in 2010

Free access to the Linnea Union Catalogues (LINDA and ARTO) is being piloted in 2010, and the fees for searching are not debited. Copy cataloguing and access to the Elektra materials, however, are still subject to a fee.

Searching (2009)

Nearly all Finnish universities, all libraries of universities of applied sciences and all public libraries have a license to search the Linnea Union Catalogues in their local area networks. Some universities also allow remote access - for further information, please contact your university. Moreover, a number of company and special libraries have acquired search licenses. Access is based on IP addresses (see Subscriber Agreement and fees below).

Copy cataloguing

Finnish public libraries and libraries of universities of applied sciences have a license to copy MARC records from Linnea Union Catalogues. In addition, union catalogue data producers have a right to copy cataloguing based on the producer contracts. Libraries involved in the SVUC Agreement have the right to copy records from LINDA. Others need a separate Subscriber Agreement. Access is based on IP addresses.
