FINELIB
FinELib is a consortium of Finnish universities, universities of applied sciences, research institutes and public libraries. The aim of the Consortium is to ensure and improve the availability of electronic resources.
The consortium’s Service Unit operates at the National Library of Finland.
MISSION
-FinELib is an active contributor to the infrastructure of the Finnish information society

acquires e-resources competitively, ensures access to diverse
high-quality content and promotes their use in research, teaching,
learning as well as in universal access to information

STRATEGIC GOALS
Operations models will meet the needs of the consortium members
-Acquisition models for e-books will be revised
-The availability of Finnish content will be promoted
-The services and division of labour of the consortium will be reviewed and revised
Services offered by the information society will match the needs of the consortium
-The use of e-resources will be promoted
-The consortium will impact the pricing and service models of the publishing industry
-Open access to information will be promoted
-The consortium will lobby funders and influence research and cultural policymaking
Operations will be based on top expertise
-Expertise of the entire consortium will be exploited
-Strategic partnerships will be established

projects and significant initiatives in its field of operation
