The Customers of the National Library Network Services

The National Library provides services for all Finnish libraries: university libraries, libraries of universities of applied sciences (polytechnics) and public libraries. Special libraries are involved by agreement.All the library sectors contribute to the development of the National Library Network Services and act together to ensure the future of these services. Each sector has their own council for cooperation. In the joint meetings between the National Library and the library network, the library sectors are represented by the chairs of the councils.
The Council for Finnish University Libraries
The Council for Finnish University Libraries is an assembly of university library directors. The goal of the Council is to promote cooperation and joint projects.
The Chair of the Council is Mrs Susanna Parikka and the cooperation secretary is Mrs Paula Kangasniemi.
The AMKIT Consortium
The AMKIT Consortium coordinates the cooperation of libraries of universities of applied sciences in Finland. The Steering Committee Chair is Mr Kauko Maskulainen and vice-chair is Mrs Kaisa Rissanen.Further information
The Council for Public Libraries
The Council for Public Libraries in Finland coordinates the cooperation of the Finnish public libraries and represents public libraries in the cooperation of the whole library network of Finland. The Chair of the Council is Mrs Rebekka Pilppula, and the secretary is Mr Erkki Lounasvuori.
The Council for the Special Libraries
The Council for the Special Libraries (EriK) coordinates the cooperation of the special library branch and represents special libraries in the cooperation of the whole library network of Finland. The Chair of the Council is Mrs Tuija Siimes, and the secretary is Mrs Soile Manninen.
