The National Library - the national gateway to information
The strategy of the National Library of Finland 2006–2015
Due to a change in legislation the status of the National Library as a national cultural institution for all citizens and a central service unit for the Finnish library network will be reinforced in 2006. The aim of this strategy is to make a better distinction between the various user and interest groups in order to serve them better.
The library network and other partners have taken an active part in compiling this strategy.

- The library network, the academic community and public administration will gain from the international co-operation of the National Library.
The interest groups, which include both Finnish and international sponsors and partners, are influential in assuring the success of the National Library.
