The Encyclopedia of Slavic Languages and Linguistics Online (Brill), available for pilot use in September, has been acquired for use in the University of Helsinki’s online environment and on-site at the National Library of Finland. The articles in the encyclopedia examine the development of Slavic languages and their interaction with other languages. The recently published work is as yet unfinished: it will grow by one hundred articles a year between 2020 and 2023, ultimately comprising about 400 articles in all once it has been completed. The work has been edited by Marc L. Greenberg (University of Kansas) and Lenore A. Grenoble (University of Chicago).

The Bibliography of the History and Archaeology of Eastern Europe in the Middle Ages (Brill) covers literature pertaining to a vast geographical area which has been influenced by Scandinavia, Western Europe, Eurasia and Byzantium. The bibliography currently contains more than 75,000 records, with approximately 1,000–2,000 new records added each year. The cited works have been published from the end of the 18th century to the present, in 25 languages. The search capabilities include full text search, keyword search, author search and title search. Search results can be further narrowed by, for example, publication date, format and language. The bibliography has been edited by Florin Curta (University of Florida).
