Non-fiction collection 1810–1972 in the National Collection contains the whole gamut of the non-fiction and scientific literature received as legal deposit copies over 160 years: from alphabet-books and text books to doctoral theses, from histories and anniversary books to registers, from almanacs and calendars to hymn books and bibles, from dictionaries and tourist guides to statistics and official publications and everything in between. The materials have been divided in several field-specific groups, see sub-collections.

Legal deposit copy collection
Acquisition policy
Was statutorily accrued 1810–1972 as legal deposit copies. However, some imprints were never submitted to the collections, and some have been lost for various reasons. Some publications are in such a bad condition that better copies are sought to replace them. The collection is supplemented with private donations.
