The Aboica Collection includes the Royal Academy of Turku's foreign, printed books that survived the Great Fire of 1827. They were transferred to Helsinki during the move of the university in 1828. The Aboica collection was formed in 1947 and includes 347 works and dissertations, a total of 729 titles in 483 volumes.

A paper catalogue has been made of the collection. The original list by F. W. Pipping, with later additions by Chief Librarian Jorma Vallinkoski, is kept in the archive of the library and a copy of it can be found in the Special Collections Reading Room.

Provenance
The Aboica Collection contains the foreign books of the old Royal Academy of Turku, which survived the Great Fire of 1827. The Academy building and its library were completely demolished, but these books were spared from the destruction because they were on loan. One year after the fire, the university moved to Helsinki, where the library began re-building the collection around these over 800 volumes and the c. 6,000 volumes received from Offentliga biblioteket.
Some of the 800 works that survived the Great Fire have been transferred afterwards to the Collection of Rarities, Fennica and the Manuscript Collection. In 1947, the Aboica Collection was formed of the foreign books that were salvaged from Turku. The collection has 347 works and dissertations, all in all 729 titles in 483 volumes.
