Event Information
Adventure and enjoyment at the National Library of Finland
Each year 15-20 events of various kinds, such as concerts, lecture series, authors’ visits, poetry readings, philosophical dialogues, seminars and panel discussions, are organised at the National Library of Finland. The events’ presenters and themes are interwoven with the current exhibitions.
Although the National Library of Finland’s facilities limit the number of attendees – 100 persons fit into the Cupola Hall and the auditorium seats 60-70 persons – cultural events often function most effectively as interactive dialogues in small groups. A stimulating conversational atmosphere conducive to the free exchange of ideas is the ideal, encouraging participants to search for new information while enhancing their appreciation of Finland’s literary and cultural traditions.
