Poster Show: Abraham Lincoln: Portrait of a President;
January 11 - February 27, 2010
The poster show displays descriptive texts and striking historic images
depicting the life and accomplishments of Abraham Lincoln, the 16th
president of the United States, who saved the Union and abolished slavery
during the Civil War. The posters feature a chronological narrative of
Lincoln's life from his birth in a frontier log cabin, to his rise as a
national politician, and to his death by assassination. Included are e.g. a
title panel with a stunning 1860 portrait photo of Lincoln; an image of
Lincoln's handwritten draft of the Gettysburg Address accompanied by the
text in type, and a beautiful photograph of the Lincoln Memorial.
